Taylor 510-CE Fishman Prefix Blender 1999
Here is a well-worn, played hard, most definitely used guitar. This one was owned by one of our favorite “local legends” for about the last 12 years or so. It is a 1999 510-ce and believe me when I say this is a used guitar. It has many dings, dents, gouges, and scratches. There is a pretty major ding, right on the top of the guitar, that goes all the way to the wood. There is a crack coming from that dent as well. This all being said, and in a testimony to the quality of Taylor Guitars, this thing sounds like a million bucks. It plays great and sounds as good as any acoustic/electric in the shop. The crack has been there for a long time and has not gotten any worse, so other than cosmetics and aesthetics, I wouldn’t worry about it. This one has the Fishman Prefix Onboard Blender ( for all of you anti-Expression System types) and it works perfectly. This is minimal, minor fret wear and you won’t need to have any work done to this guitar at all before you take it out and gig with it. That’s what it has been used for all these years and that’s what this one is for. The original Taylor hard case is included. Thanks.

Taylor Custom GS 12-String Cocobolo Adirondack

Here is a rare, probably a one of a kind, custom built Taylor GS Body 12-string acoustic electric guitar. The back and sides of this guitar are beautifully matched, premium quality Cocobolo and were personally hand-selected by Mojo’s Music from the Taylor wood shop. The figuring, the deep color and the sapwood of this cocobolo wood is nothing less than phenomenal and/or spectacular. The Adirondack spruce top is equally impressive and has the “aged toner” glossy finish. There are no nicks, no dings, no dents, no scratches, no flaws, no gouges, no fret wear, no issues of any kind. Nothing but perfection. Okay, so it looks great, but how does it play and sound? In a word, fantastic. The tone is rich, full, bright and balanced without an overabundance of low-end and with just the right amount of sparkle, presence and sustain. It plays and sounds absolutely great and there is no way you could ever be disappointed with this fine instrument. It does have the Taylor Expression System pickup and electronics, it just doesn’t have the exterior mounted controls or battery compartment. No holes in this premium grade Cocobolo! It of course comes in the original Taylor case and will ship in the original Taylor shipping carton. This is a new guitar that has been on display in our shop since early 2009 but has only been played by a handful of lucky people. You may know this, but Taylor (and other guitar companies) are no longer taking orders for Cocobolo guitars and this is likely to become a highly collectible instrument and will be (actually, already is) a very rare guitar. If you could even order this guitar today (which you can’t), it would spec out to have a list price of at least $6000.00.

Liberty Tree Guitar
Twang of freedom rings locally (Liberty Tree guitar featured at Mojo’s Music)

A piece of America’s last living Liberty Tree has taken up residence in Edwardsville in Mojo’s Music store in the form of a guitar. Owner Bob Moggio just couldn’t resist the beautiful guitar made with wood from the tulip poplar that stood as Maryland’s Liberty Tree for 224 years. He saw it on display by Taylor Guitars at the National Association of Music Merchants in Los Angeles in January.
It arrived at Mojo’s Music Tuesday via UPS, prompting Moggio to remove the American flag he hung in the store window on Sept. 12 and use it as a fitting backdrop for the Liberty Tree Guitar. Both hold a place of prominence behind the counter inside the store.
Taylor Guitars calls it the most significant instrument it has ever created, the wood itself inspiring actual reverence.
