Bob Moggio
Bob Moggio,
owner and founder of Mojo's Music, has been in the retail music
business for nearly 27 years. Before opening Mojo’s in
October of 2000, Bob worked in the business as a salesperson, buyer,
advertising and promotions coordinator and general manager, often at
the same time! In addition to 27 years of retail music store
experience, Bob has about 42 years of guitar playing
experience.
In addition to guitar playing, guitar and amp buying and selling, Bob also has experience with setting up and running PA & sound systems for live music performances, school and church sound equipment installations, and recording studio applications.
It is all of this experience and knowledge, combined with the rest of the staff’s that sets Mojo's Music apart from the competition. Come in soon and see for yourself the store (and the staff) that everyone’s been talking about.
Melissa Rawe
Melissa (the former Ms. Moggio) is our longest running part-time employee, having been with the store for almost six years.
Her musical experience includes playing the flute and guitar (both acoustic and electric). Her favorite however is playing the bass guitar. Melissa is responsible for our printed music department and does the orders for our lesson books and our popular music books. In addition to being very well informed about music and guitars, she is exceptionally helpful and polite, and is more than happy to provide her assistance.
Melissa is also graduated, with honors, from SIU-E in the fall of 2005 and is now working on her Masters Degree.
Darin Gray
Darin
came to Mojo’s Music in the fall of 2003 after working for nearly
fifteen years in a related music retail environment.
Along with his vast knowledge of all things musical, he is our in house bass guitar specialist and our resident professional and “touring” musician. A local resident here in Edwardsville, Darin is the father of two musically inclined sons (giving him a special understanding of a parent’s concerns), is college educated, has taught bass at the college level and has a twenty year history of playing live shows locally, nationally and even internationally. Among credits too lengthy to list, Darin’s current musical projects include the duo “On Fillmore” with Glenn Kotch, from the big time rock band Wilco and a progressive rock trio know as “Grand Ulena”. This background gives Darin a great perspective on the needs and concerns of musicians of all types as well as parents of young musicians to be.
Give Darin a call, or better yet, come by and see him and get some truly professional assistance with your, or your children’s, musical equipment needs.
Turk Myers
Turk,
who came onboard in October 2005, is the latest addition to the Mojo's
sales team. Do you want to talk drums? Turk is a bona-fide, certified,
and self proclaimed "Drum Gear Geek". He's one of those guys who seem
to know just about everything about drums, hardware, cymbals, sticks,
clamps, and all related items.
Turk also has many years of experience running a professional sound reinforcement system and is fast becoming our pro audio expert as well. Guitars, amps, effects are also making their way into Turk's repertoire, so feel free to ask him about anything.
He is generally in the store Monday through Thursday, but can often be found here on weekends as well. Give him a call or better yet, stop on by and pick his brain about the drum kit of your dreams.
